Senate GOP Caucus Calls for Select Committee on Trenton Democrats Voter Fraud Disaster

The Senate Republican Caucus sent a letter to Senate President Scutari requesting a bipartisan Select Committee with subpoena power to investigate the Trenton Democrats' voter fraud disaster that resulted in at least 6,600 non-citizens being registered to vote and approximately 400 non-citizens voting illegally, compromising the State's broader electoral system and egregiously breaching the public trust.

An excerpt from the letter reads:

"As you are aware, the Governor has confirmed that at least 6,600 non-citizens were improperly registered to vote through the Motor Vehicle Commission's automatic voter registration system and, to date, it has also been confirmed that nearly 400 of those individuals have in fact unlawfully voted in New Jersey elections.

In brief, the bipartisan select committee should examine how improper registrations were allowed to occur, what precisely State officials knew and when, what corrective measures and public disclosures were made or, for that matter, not made, and whether the issue extends beyond the improper registrations and unlawful votes already identified. In addition, it is absolutely crucial that the investigation identify where exactly unlawful votes have been cast, as well as any impact such votes may have had on electoral outcomes. Most importantly, the select committee must make recommendations to the Senate as to what safeguards are necessary to prevent similar failures going forward."
