Police have released CCTV footage in an appeal for a public assistance after a property was damaged by fire in Sydney's Northern Beaches area late last year.

In November 2024, officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command established Strike Force Gatcombe to investigate a suspicious fire at a home on Harkeith Street, Mona Vale, on Sunday 3 November 2024.

The occupant - a 45-year-old woman - was able to extinguish the blaze before emergency services were called, however, the home received significant damage to the front veranda and roof.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with burns to her arms before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As a part of ongoing investigation, police are appealing for public assistance to identify two men who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

One man is depicted wearing a dark hooded jumper, dark long pants, and dark coloured shoes.

The other man is depicted wearing a dark hooded jumper with a white graphic on the front, dark pants, and white shoes.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
