Courtheyn publishes on public scholarship and social media

Chris Courtheyn, associate professor in the School of Public Service, recent co-authored a paper titled "Estudios de Género en el Sur's Intergenerational Research Collective: Exploring Decolonial Feminism in the Global South through Social Media Communication." Published in the Annals of the American Association of Geographers, the paper presents lessons about how to conduct public scholarship with young people by sharing academic insights through social media.

The writers argue that media outreach can help solidify research collectives, and that intergenerational community building within the research collective is key to sustaining and strengthening public scholarship.
