New York Farm Bureau Celebrates Passage of Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act

Today, NYFB celebrates the House passage of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, passed by the Senate last month. This legislation allows schools the choice to serve whole, 2%, 1% and skim flavored or plain milk as part of school meals, overturning the 2012 rules that allowed only fat-free or 1% milk to be served in schools.

"We are incredibly excited to see the passage of this legislation, which has been a top policy priority for New York Farm Bureau. This act will allow greater market opportunities for New York dairy farmers, while also providing essential nutrients to children in school meals," said Ashley Sardo, Manager of National Affairs.
