From Home Runs to Headbangs - traffic around Tampa's sporting and entertainment venues will be heavy this weekend.

On Friday, June 6, though Sunday, June 8, drivers should expect heavy traffic around Steinbrenner Field and Raymond James Stadium as Tampa Bay Rays fans exit and Metallica fans enter... Sandman.

The Rays take on the Marlins at 1:10 P.M. on Friday, while Metallica's M72 World Tour kicks off at 6:00 PM at Raymond James Stadium. Drivers should anticipate congestion as baseball fans leave, and concertgoers arrive.

On Saturday, there is no concert.

On Sunday, June 8, the Rays play at 12:10 P.M., and Metallica performs again at 6:00 P.M. Drivers should expect similar conditions between events.

A heavy law enforcement presence will be on site to direct traffic on both event days. Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution near both venues and follow all posted signage.
