Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Chen Shaochun Meets with Foreign Minister II of Brunei Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof

On July 14, Ambassador Chen Shaochun met with the Honourable Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II of Brunei Darusslam. The two sides exchanged views on China-Brunei relations and issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Chen extended congratulations on the 80th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. Ambassador Chen stated that China stands ready to work with Brunei to implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State, enhance strategic communication, deepen exchanges and cooperation across various fields, so as to achieve more solid progress in the building of a China-Brunei community with a shared future.

The Honorable Dato Erywan stated that Brunei and China enjoy a long-standing friendship. Brunei is willing to work with China to uphold the strategic guidance of the two Heads of States, deepen cooperation in various fields, and continue to promote the development of bilateral relations.
