Landmark Sports & Social at Fourth Street Live! Gets a $1 Million Upgrade

Sports & Social at Fourth Street Live! in downtown Louisville has undergone a $1 million upgrade, bringing a new second floor tavern to the space among other changes.

Sports & Social will reopen Sept. 19 with a weekend celebration featuring college and professional football games, live entertainment and other special activities, according to a news release. The "reimagined" venue includes a completely refreshed first floor with around 100 additional seats, a second floor tavern with two bars, a state-of-the-art LED screen television and an elevated food and beverage program.

"For 17 years, Sports & Social has provided a place for people to come together to celebrate the biggest moments in sports, and this investment ensures we're delivering an even better experience for years to come," Fourth Street Live! Chief Operating Officer Tony Thomas said in the release.

Sports & Social, located at 427 S. 4th St., will reopen to the public Sept. 19. Thomas said each upgrade, including the enhanced viewing technology and expanded spaces for groups and private events, was designed with the club's guests in mind. He added the renovation is an example of continued investment in Fourth Street Live! and downtown Louisville.

The celebration kicks off with a "Tailgate Takeover" Sept. 19, with the first 50 guests receiving a "swag bag," and will continue Sept. 20 with a "Sunday Social," which will include DJ entertainment, all-day free pool and White Claw tastings. Sports & Social will also introduce new weekly programming, including weekly happy hours, football specials, trivia nights and UFC fight nights, with a full event list available online.
