Phoenix Energy partnering with Sport Changes Life kick off second half of environmental education programme

Phoenix Energy and Sport Changes Life have returned to the classroom for the second half of the environmental education programme, with Harberton North Special School among the first schools to take part.

Coming to an end of its fourth year, the partnership continues to bring environmental education to primary school pupils across East Down and Greater Belfast, using an engaging combination of sport, physical activity and interactive learning to encourage young people to think differently about the world around them.

The programme forms part of Phoenix Energy's commitment to environmental responsibility and fostering communities, helping children understand the importance of protecting the natural environment and exploring simple, practical ways they can make a difference in their everyday lives.

Through a combination of classroom workshops and practical activities, pupils are encouraged to consider sustainability, reuse materials and challenge the idea that new equipment is always needed to have fun.

Last year, the initiative reached almost 600 Primary 7 pupils across 15 schools, with continued interest from schools highlighting the value of making environmental learning accessible, enjoyable and relevant to young people.
