NEW: Maine Democrats Launch New Video Exposing Republicans' Dangerous Health Care Agenda

Health care will be a defining issue for voters this cycle

Augusta, Maine - Today, the Maine Democratic Party is launching a new video calling out Republican candidates for their relentless attacks on Mainers' health care. The video features Garrett Mason, Jonathan Bush, Bobby Charles, and Paul LePage - all of whom have backed dangerous policies that would rip coverage away from Mainers and drive up costs for working families.

The video drops as Republicans gather this weekend for their state convention, where they're expected to double down on the same extreme agenda of gutting health care and kicking Mainers off their plans to score political points.

Maine Democratic Party executive director Devon Murphy-Anderson released the following statement:

"Maine Republicans have one plan for health care: take it away and drive costs up for us. We are going to make sure every Mainer knows exactly what's at stake this November."

Republican Records on Health Care:

  • Garrett Mason opposed MaineCare expansion while serving in the legislature.
  • Jonathan Bush has openly talked on the campaign trail about kicking Mainers off MaineCare - even suggesting using AI to do it.
  • Bobby Charles praised Donald Trump's budget agenda, which drove up ACA premiums and made health care more expensive for Mainers.
  • As governor, Paul LePage repeatedly vetoed MaineCare expansion legislation.
