Atlanta Braves and DIRECTV reach multiyear distribution agreement for BravesVision

The Atlanta Braves and DIRECTV today announced a multiyear distribution agreement to provide the newly-announced BravesVision service, which will house pre-game, post-game, and live game telecasts across the full Braves home territory, inclusive of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and western North Carolina. BravesVision will be available on DIRECTV beginning on Opening Day, Friday, March 27.

This wide-ranging streaming, satellite, and IPTV licensing agreement is among the first for BravesVision and will guarantee access to DIRECTV subscribers across the Braves' home territory. Braves games will be available on DIRECTV streaming and satellite lineups on channel 645, and on U-verse channels 1730 (HD).

"DIRECTV will continue to keep our subscribers connected to their favorite team's games, and we are excited to bring Braves fans the newly created BravesVision, complete with live games throughout the season as well as year-round access to behind-the-scenes and other Braves content to satisfy their deepest interests," said Rob Thun, Chief Content Officer at DIRECTV.

DIRECTV was also one of the first major providers to offer the Texas Rangers' independently operated Rangers Sports Network (January 2025), the Chicago White Sox's Chicago Sports Network (October 2024), the Houston Astros' Space City Home Network (October 2023), and the Chicago Cubs' Marquee Sports Network (February 2020).

As MLB embarks on its new season, DIRECTV launched nine new league-operated channels for the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers (Detroit SportsNet), Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays, and Washington Nationals. DIRECTV previously joined MLB to launch league-operated team channels for the San Diego Padres (2023), Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies (2024), Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins (2025). All told, DIRECTV has collaborated with MLB to launch 14 team-specific new channels, representing nearly half of the league's 30 teams.

On MLB Opening Day last season, DIRECTV introduced MyHome Team, a $19.99-per-month add-on for its MySports streaming subscribers that gives customers access to their favorite local MLB, NBA, or NHL teams. Braves fans living within the Braves' large home territory who subscribe to the less expensive, sports-focused MySports package of channels and major streaming services like ESPN can also add these Braves telecasts.

Braves pregame, postgame, and live in-game coverage will also be available to sports bars, restaurants, hotels, and other commercial venues across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and western North Carolina, serviced by DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS, the industry leader in out-of-home sports distribution. The 162-game baseball season is especially important because it allows commercial establishments to promote game availability nearly daily, helping build consistent patronage during the extended March-November season.

As part of the club's television and streaming plans, the Braves will partner with Gray Media to broadcast select games on local over-the-air (OTA) TV stations across Atlanta and the Southeast. These broadcasts will also appear as simulcasts on BravesVision and thus available to DIRECTV subscribers in the Braves home team territory.
