PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update - Week of October 28, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 28. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township
    • Road closed. Posted detour:
      • Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road)
      • Route 40 (Main Street)
      • Route 221 (S Bridge Road)
      • Route 3009 (Cracraft Road)

Slide repair:

  • Route 19 (Amity Ridge Road) in Amwell Township

Crews will be picking litter, updating, and replacing downed signs, and addressing work orders on various state routes countywide.

PennDOT has a toll-free number - 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623) - for residents to report road maintenance concerns and locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
