October 23, 2026
By and Liepa Braciulyte

The New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) announced a Program Opportunity Notice (PON) for municipalities interested in the newly created Municipal Permitting Modernization Program. The Program will provide New York State (NYS) municipalities with two years of no-cost access to a software platform that will improve workflow, modernize, support, and enhance current municipal building and zoning processes. This PON affirms New York's "Letting New York Build" agenda by helping to accelerate housing development, lower costs for families, and ensure critical infrastructure projects move forward without needless delays. The full announcement, eligibility requirements, and application can be found here.
