Beinir Johannesen has been formally elected Prime Minister (Løgmaður) of the Faroe Islands by the Faroese Parliament.
The new government is a broad coalition formed by the People's Party, the Union Party, and the Social Democratic Party - representing three large political parties in the Faroe Islands.
In his address following the appointment, Prime Minister Johannesen emphasized that the election outcome reflects a shift away from traditional bloc politics and signals a commitment to broader political cooperation.
Born in 1997, Johannesen is the youngest individual to assume the office of Prime Minister in the history of the Faroe Islands.
