Fort Victoria Country Park will be the scene of some serious seaside sleuthing this summer.

Join the Isle of Wight Council's Ranger for regular guided rock pooling and fossil walks throughout the school holidays.

Expect to get your feet wet as you explore rock pools brimming with life, including anemones, tiny fish and scuttling crabs. And for those with a nose for the ancient, fossil finds could include remnants of turtles, sharks, and even prehistoric crocs!

Anita Matheson, who is leading the sessions, said: "There's nothing quite like seeing a child's face light up when they spot their first crab or uncover a fossil that's millions of years old. It's a brilliant way to connect with nature and history!"

The sessions are perfect for families and budding palaeontologists and no booking is required.

Participants are asked to meet outside the Ranger's Office at Fort Victoria. Admission is £3 per person or £10 per family, with payment accepted in cash only.Each session will last around one to one and a half hours.
