Sen. Banks Congratulates President Trump’s U.S. Attorney Nominees for Indiana on Senate Confirmation

WASHINGTON, D.C, - Today, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) released a statement congratulating President Trump's nominees, Adam Mildred (Northern District of Indiana) and Thomas Wheeler II (Southern District of Indiana), on their final confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as U.S. Attorneys for Indiana.

Said Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.): "Adam Mildred and Tom Wheeler both bring decades of legal experience and a deep commitment to upholding law and order. I congratulate them on their final confirmation and am looking forward to the work they will do for Hoosiers across Indiana."

Adam Mildred (Nominee for United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana)

Adam Mildred is currently a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Allen County and was formerly the Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Noble County. Adam is a veteran Indiana prosecutor and has prosecuted over 200 cases, including trials involving homicide, robbery, drug trafficking, and federal firearms offenses. He holds a B.S. from Ball State University and a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Tom Wheeler (Nominee for United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana)

Tom Wheeler is currently the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana and was previously the Acting General Counsel at the Department of Education.. He has held senior roles across the federal government, including Acting Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, Senior Advisor to the White House School Safety Commission, and Counsel to the Secretary of Education. Before returning to government, Wheeler was a partner at Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, a top Indianapolis law firm, where he represented federal, state, and local public entities. He holds a B.S. from Indiana University and a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
