Public invited to free Día de los Muertos Fiesta Oct. 25

The Mission Viejo Activities Committee invites the community to a special Día de los Muertos Fiesta (Day of the Dead) at the Norman P. Murray Center on Saturday, October 25 from 2 to 9 pm.

The festivities will provide the chance to explore the educational and cultural significance of Day of the Dead traditions. Enjoy live Mariachi music, Folklorico Dance, face painting, puppet show and folk-art workshops. You can also bring a photo of a loved one or pet that passed to add to our special Ofrenda (memorial altar).

There are also Ofrenda and Catrina Contests along with a costume parade. Registration for the Catrina contest is required, and costumes must be Day of the Dead themed (no Halloween costumes).

Admission to the fiesta is free. Authentic food, beverages, beer, and sangria will be available for purchase.

View the schedule of activities at mvactivities.com. For more information, contact 949-830-7066 or [email protected].

The Norman P. Murray Center is located at 24932 Veterans Way.
