Rosen Announces Over $21 Million in Federal Funding for Nevada to Combat Homelessness That She Pushed Trump Administration to Release

Earlier This Year, Senator Rosen Announced She Successfully Pushed the Trump Administration to Release These Funds After It Took Action That Would Compromise This Program

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that more than $21 million in federal funding will be coming to Nevada to help combat homelessness as part of the Continuum of Care (CoC) grants. Earlier this year, Senator Rosen successfully pushed back against a Trump Administration action that would have cut all funding to the CoC program and would have put nearly 1,200 Nevadans at risk of losing their homes.

"The Continuum of Care program is the single most effective tool we have to address homelessness in Nevada and across the country. As the housing crisis continues to get worse, it is critical that we continue to support programs that truly help Nevadans have a roof over their heads," said Senator Rosen. "I am happy to help secure this funding for Nevada, and will continue to do everything I can at the federal level to address the housing crisis in Nevada."

Senator Rosen has fought for solutions to address Nevada's housing crisis. In March, she introduced bipartisan legislation to support small housing businesses to boost housing supply and lower costs. She also introduced the bipartisan CONSTRUCTS Act, which would help support the construction workforce by creating a new grant program to fund education and skills training programs at community colleges and technical schools. Last year, she also introduced the HOME Act, which would crack down on price gouging by corporate investors in the housing market.
