In 2024, Taiwan's Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional (HRI) industry reached a record sales value of NT$1.3 trillion Taiwanese dollars, approximately US$33 billion. Although sales continued to rise, the number of businesses in this sector increased only slightly, reflecting the fierce competition in the industry. The United States continues to be the leading supplier of various food ingredients for the market, such as beef, poultry, fresh fruits, and vegetables.
