A Pivotal Summit Is Underway — Here’s What Latino Leaders Are Discussing

Historic Latino Leadership at the Table

This year's Summit brings together representatives from a number of Latino legislative caucuses from across the country, including:

Arizona • Colorado • Connecticut • Georgia • Illinois • New Jersey • New York • Rhode Island • Texas (MALC + Texas Senate Hispanic Caucus) • Washington - 46 participants from 18 states.

This remarkable representation shows the strength of Latino leadership at a time when states are being asked to do more than ever.

The Importance of This Summit

With more responsibilities shifting away from the federal government, state and local leaders remain front and center on the front lines of delivering solutions that improve their constituents' daily lives - from access to healthcare and affordability of prescription drugs to disaster readiness and voting rights.

Throughout the Summit, policymakers are discussing critical issues, including:

  • State budget pressures and safety net programs

  • Energy reliability and sustainability

  • Prescription drug affordability

  • Disaster preparedness challenges

  • Healthcare workforce shortages

  • Using artificial intelligence responsibly

  • The impact of redistricting on Latino representation

These conversations help leaders return home better equipped to deliver meaningful, community-focused solutions.
