Booker Kicks Off Annual 21-County Tour in Morris, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties

NEWARK, NJ - Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) kicked off his Annual 21-County Tour with visits to Morris, Warren, and Hunterdon Counties, beginning his yearly tour meeting with residents, local leaders, and organizations in every county across New Jersey. Day One highlighted the agricultural heritage, local history, and community traditions that help define the Garden State.

Senator Booker began the day in Morris County, where he visited the Borough of Wharton's Canal Day. The annual festival celebrates the historic Morris Canal and its lasting impact on the region, featuring live music, local craft vendors, and guided historical tours that highlight the canal's role in shaping the communities along its path. The Senator's office also hosted Mobile Office Hours offering federal resources and constituent services to the public.

In Warren County, the Senator visited the Phillipsburg Farmers Market, a producer-only market that brings together local vendors offering fresh produce, meats, baked goods, prepared foods, plants, and other locally made products. As a longtime advocate for New Jersey's farmers and a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Booker heard directly from farmers at the market about building a food system that supports local growers. In the Senate, Booker has prioritized support for local Jersey farmers and reforms to improve America's overall food system, including the Farmland for Farmers Act, which would limit corporate ownership of U.S. farmland, the Office of Small Farms Establishment Act, which would create a new USDA office dedicated to serving small farms, and his broader Food is Medicine agenda, which would expand access to fresh produce through SNAP, strengthen federal nutrition programs by sourcing healthy meals from American farms, and help families use pre-tax dollars to purchase fruits and vegetables.

Senator Booker ended the day in Hunterdon County at the Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair, a five-day celebration of the county's deep agricultural roots and rural identity. Since 1948, the fair has been a summertime tradition for generations of families across central New Jersey, featuring livestock exhibits, agricultural technology demonstrations, and vendor and county resource booths that showcase the strength, resilience, and generational continuity of Hunterdon's farming community. The Senator's office also hosted Mobile Office Hours offering federal resources and constituent services to the public.

"Every year, I look forward to traveling across New Jersey and listening directly to the people who call our state home. As I kicked off this year's 21-County Tour, I was reminded of how much pride New Jerseyans have in their communities and how much they do to make them stronger. From preserving the rich history of the Morris Canal to supporting the farmers who feed our families and passing our agricultural traditions on to the next generation, these are the people and traditions that make our state so special. I look forward to continuing to meet with New Jerseyans, hear their stories, and learn more about the work they're doing to strengthen their communities as I travel across our state," said Senator Booker.

Booker's Annual 21-County Tour continues tomorrow with stops in Passaic and Sussex Counties.
