Community Medical Center Now Treating Patients With the Latest Generation Cyberknife® System

Robotic Radiotherapy Device Delivers Precise Radiation Therapy Treatments More Rapidly, so Patients Can Return to the Activities They Enjoy

Toms River, NJ, June 25, 2026 - The J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community Medical Center (CMC), an RWJBarnabas Health facility, launched its newest advanced oncology treatment by treating patients with the new CyberKnife® S7™ System, a fully robotic radiotherapy device combining speed, precision and motion synchronization technology for the treatment of tumors throughout the body. The system uses true robotic precision and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven Synchrony® technology to track, detect and adapt for tumor or patient movement in real-time throughout the cancer treatment delivery. The upgrade to the CyberKnife S7 System enables physicians to treat patients more efficiently, minimizing the time spent in daily treatments. RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute, the state's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, are committed to providing patients with access to the latest state-of-the-art radiation therapy technologies.

The CyberKnife System offers a highly precise, non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for tumors and lesions anywhere in the body-with a focus on the brain, lungs, prostate and pancreas. Treatment is administered during an outpatient visit in typically just 1-5 sessions.

As a leading provider of cancer services in the Ocean County region, the J. Philip Citta Regional Cancer Center at CMC, together with Rutgers Cancer Institute, provides patients access to the most advanced treatment options including clinical trials, complex surgical procedures and sophisticated radiation therapy techniques, close to home. It has been nationally recognized by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons with accreditation since 1986. The cancer center takes a comprehensive and compassionate approach to cancer care, coordinated by a multidisciplinary team of experienced physicians and specialists who are highly trained in their fields of expertise.

"The CyberKnife® S7™ system will enable our cancer center's team to effectively treat a wider range of tumor types more quickly than ever with greater precision. At the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at CMC, we are committed to helping Ocean County residents identify the best possible treatment option for them, based on their particular diagnosis, overall health, age, and lifestyle," said Dr. David D'Ambrosio, Medical Director of CyberKnife and Radiation Oncologist at CMC.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer patients care with one of the most advanced treatment options available, the CyberKnife® S7™ System," said Aaron F. Hajart, MS, ATC, FACHE, President & Chief Executive Officer at Community. "Investing in upgrading our Cybernife system is one of the many ways we are expanding and enhancing the clinical services offered at CMC."

CyberKnife treatment is an outpatient procedure that does not require incisions or general anesthesia. The system specializes in delivering stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), treatment processes that require an extremely high degree of precision and accuracy.
