Indonesia Formalizes Its Strategic Partnership Program Primer with the APO

On Friday, 9 January 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Government of Indonesia formalized its Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) Primer with the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) in the presence of Minister of Manpower Professor Yassierli. The SPP Primer was signed by Director General for Vocational Training and Productivity Darmawansyah, Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, who also serves as acting APO Director for Indonesia, and APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata.

As Southeast Asia's largest economy, Indonesia aspires under Visi Indonesia Emas 2045 (Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision) to become one of the world's top five economies. Realizing this ambition will depend on sustained improvements in productivity to strengthen competitiveness, enhance growth quality, and ensure that economic progress remains inclusive and resilient over the long term.

The SPP Primer aligns APO support with Indonesia's National Productivity Master Plan 2025-2029, which positions productivity as the cornerstone of inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-driven growth. Cooperation under the SPP will support the implementation of a phased productivity pathway, from baseline assessment and acceleration to integration, scaling, and sustainability, in line with national priorities.

The formalization of the SPP Primer reaffirms Indonesia's commitment to working closely with the APO to advance productivity as a driver of competitiveness, sustainability, and shared prosperity, contributing to regional dynamism in line with the APO Vision 2030.
