Bataan Memorial Elementary Bike and Roll to School Day is Oct 8, 2026

Bataan Memorial Elementary is excited to announce a special Bike and Roll to School Day for primary and intermediate students along with ICS and their families on Oct 8, 2026, in celebration of Bike & Roll to School Day!

There will be four starting locations, with all participants meeting at Clinton and Alice Street to bike north on Clinton to Bataan. The 8:00am starting locations are: West End Community Park; Corner of Fifth and Madison Street-4th Street Block; Taft Hill/Park; and students are encouraged to join the bike bus as it passes their homes. All students with training wheels should report to the Taft Hill Location. For a detailed route map, please visit www.pccsd.net

Port Clinton City Schools encourages community members to step outside along the route to cheer on students and volunteers!

To make this event a success and ensure safety, volunteers are needed. If you are interested in helping out, please complete the volunteer application and BCI check at the board office for only $10. Lisa Schlumbohm, a dedicated parent volunteer, will be assisting with the organization of this event.

Thanks to The Ohio State University Extension Office and the Ottawa County Health Department will also be volunteering to help with the event.

In the event of inclement weather or a school cancellation or delay, this event will be canceled.

This initiative promotes physical activity, teaches safe pedestrian and bicycling skills, addresses environmental concerns, and helps reduce traffic and pollution. Plus, it's a great way to have fun!
