MEMA Alert: Special Weather Statement For Lana?i, Moloka?i And Maui Through 10 PM HST

MEMA Alert...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT LANAI IN MAUI...MAUI IN MAUI AND MOLOKAI IN MAUI COUNTIES THROUGH 1000 PM HST...


At 903 PM HST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles northeast of Kalaupapa National Park to 5 miles south of Kamalo to 5 miles west of Manele. Movement was northeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Lanai City, Honokohau, Wailuku, Waihee,
Kapalua, Puunene, Waikapu, Kalaupapa National Park, Ualapue, Halawa
Valley, Waiehu, Kawela, Maalaea, Pukoo, Kamalo, Napili-Honokowai, and
Kaanapali.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 AM HST for
Hawaii.
