City of West Hollywood Webpage Features Regular Updates About Water Main Break Response and Resources

The City of West Hollywood continues to work closely with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Metro, and regional partners in response to the Thursday, July 16, 2026 water main break on Sunset Boulevard.

LADWP is leading repairs to the damaged water transmission line, and the City of West Hollywood has been coordinating support with LADWP to impacted community members. LADWP crews remain onsite at the location of the water pipe rupture and workers have made significant progress.

To help residents, businesses, and visitors stay informed, the City has a Water Main Break information webpage at www.weho.org/watermainbreak, which is updated regularly as new information becomes available.

The webpage includes information and links to LADWP repair updates, street closures and traffic information, parking enforcement changes, Metro service alerts and detours, claims and property damage resources, vehicle insurance information, hotel discounts for impacted residents, and more.

"We are grateful that no injuries have been reported as a result of this significant water main break," said City of West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman. "We are working closely with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and our regional partners to respond to this incident as quickly and safely as possible. I want to thank our Public Works, Community Safety, and Parking teams, along with all first responders, for their swift and coordinated efforts. We know these road closures and traffic impacts are disruptive, and we appreciate everyone's patience as crews work to stabilize the area, assess the damage, and begin repairs."

Community members are encouraged to visit the Water Main Break information webpage at www.weho.org/watermainbreak for the latest updates as repair work continues.
