Ahead of DPR Summer Camp Registration Opening on Friday, February 14, Eligible Families Should Apply for Reduced Rates
(Washington, DC) - Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) are encouraging eligible residents to apply for reduced rates for DPR programs, including highly anticipated summer camps. Families must apply by Monday, February 10, 2025 to have the reduced rate applied to summer camp registration. Camp offerings will be published on Monday, February 3, 2025, and registration will open on Friday, February 14, 2025, via a lottery system running through Monday, March 3, 2025.
"The Department of Parks and Recreation offers fantastic summer camp options for children and teens, and we don't want cost to be a barrier for our families," said Mayor Bowser. "We know it's cold outside right now, but we also know that families are starting to think about their summer plans, and I encourage families to take advantage of our reduced rates."
The DPR reduced rates program is designed to remove income barriers, making it easier for more families to access DPR's enriching, fee-based programs. Families who qualify will receive a 50% or 75% discount, depending on income level, for all DPR programs in 2025, including summer camps. To qualify for reduced rates, applicants must be DC residents, provide proof of residency, and proof of income. The reduced rate income qualifications for FY25 are below:
