LANSING, Mich. - Michigan National Guard (MING) officials, joined by State Rep. Phil Green, recently visited the Michigan Army National Guard (MIARNG) Lapeer Armory, located at 2140 W. Genesee St. in Lapeer, to review a newly completed $8.8 million renovation project. The upgrades were funded through a combination of $6.0 million in federal funding and $2.8 million in state funding.
The Lapeer Armory has undergone several construction projects over the past few years, completed in multiple phases. The most recent effort, Phase 3, delivered significant improvements designed to enhance readiness, functionality and quality of life for Soldiers. These upgrades include:
One of 33 Michigan National Guard facilities targeted for modernization statewide, the Lapeer Armory renovations reflect a continued investment in infrastructure improvements that better support Soldiers of the MIARNG.
Guests at the visit included State Rep. Phil Green, Soldiers from the 210th Military Police Battalion and members of the MIARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalion.
