On the instructions of the President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksander Lukashenko, the Minister of Foreign affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov discussed the situation in the Middle East with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, ayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
The Belarusian side expressed support for Oman's efforts to establish lasting peace in the region, as well as for all mediation steps it is taking.
The Omani Foreign Minister, in turn, informed his Belarusian counterpart about the development of the situation in the conflict zone.
The interlocutors stressed that there was no alternative to a diplomatic settlement of the situation.
The continued deaths of civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure were noted with great concern. The Ministers called for an early end to all violent acts.
All parties involved should return to resolving differences by peaceful means to restore stability and security in the region.
The Belarusian side also confirmed its readiness to make all necessary efforts to de-escalate the conflict.
In addition, the interlocutors also confirmed the friendly nature of relations between the peoples of Belarus and Oman, which are based on sincere, mutual respect and support between the leaders of the two countries.
