Mansfield, PA - November 2024 - First Citizens Community Bank (FCCB) is pleased to announce a $10,000 donation to support the fundraising campaign for the replacement of the roof on the historic bandstand located in Howard Elmer Park. This iconic structure, constructed in 1886, is one of the oldest buildings in Sayre and has served as a beloved gathering place for residents of the borough and the greater valley community for over 138 years.
The bandstand not only enriches the cultural heritage of Sayre but also plays a vital role in community events, bringing people together to celebrate and enjoy local performances. The replacement of the roof will ensure the preservation of this important landmark for future generations.
"We are very happy to contribute to the restoration of the Howard Elmer Park bandstand," noted Jeff Carr, EVP, Regional President at FCCB. "This donation reflects our commitment to supporting the communities we serve and preserving our local history. The bandstand is a significant part of Sayre's heritage, and we look forward to seeing it continue to thrive as a community gathering space."
FCCB encourages residents and businesses to participate in fundraising efforts to ensure the successful completion of this vital project. Contributions can be made through the Sayre Community Corporation, which is spearheading the campaign.
