Five Teens Arrested; Two Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Outstanding investigative work led to the overnight arrests of five male teenagers and the recovery of two stolen vehicles.
Violent Crimes Division detectives last night began following a 2026 Jeep Compass that had been reported stolen on Monday, driving in tandem with a second car, a 2024 Kia sedan that had been reported stolen on Tuesday. It is believed that the Jeep Compass was used in the theft of the Kia.
The two vehicles separated and a police helicopter followed the Kia to the 800 block of South 6th Street. Aviation provided the direction the car was traveling to ground units as detectives and officers assigned to the Precision Policing Initiative successfully deployed spike strips on Shelby Avenue near South 8th Street. Two 17-year-olds and a 14-year-old fled on foot but were quickly apprehended. A handgun was recovered from one of the 17-year-olds.
The Jeep Compass stopped in the 500 block of Fatherland Street where Arlan Anderson and Isaiah Greer, both 18, were taken into custody. Greer had the Jeep keys in his pocket.
All five teens are charged with vehicle theft and evading arrest. Additionally, Greer and Anderson are charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors. They both remain jailed on $31,000 bond.
