On January 27, 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced an Advance Notice of Public Rulemaking and is seeking public input on potential approaches for improving the American-made supply chain of personal protective equipment (PPE) and essential medicines with a goal of reducing reliance on foreign made medical supplies.
