Evidence-based resources on pressing clinical topics are easily accessible in one convenient location
September 16, 2025
AAPA is proud to announce the launch of its new Clinical Resource Library, a collection of evidence-based resources that includes CME, clinical guidelines, research, podcasts, and webinars across multiple high-impact clinical areas. Aimed at addressing today's most-pressing clinical topics, the library will help PAs access timely resources as they treat patients with high-burden conditions.
The library is available to all PAs and PA students at no charge, no matter their member status. "We believe that all PAs should have access to trusted clinical information," said AAPA Chief Medical Officer Jennifer M. Kolb, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA. "It is not just a convenience, it's a critical component of safe, effective care, and every PA deserves to have unrestricted access."
The Clinical Resource Library allows users to find the resources they are looking for in a matter of minutes by narrowing their search down by clinical area, topic, or format. AAPA and PA subject matter experts will regularly audit and update the library to ensure information stays accurate.

The 10 Clinical Areas Featured in the Resource Library
Cardiovascular
More than 805,000 Americans suffer heart attacks each year, and heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S. In this library, users can find resources like the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association's clinical practice guidelines on strokes, or the latest guidelines on managing blood pressure aimed at practicing primary care and specialty clinicians who manage patients with hypertension. CME resources, such as the JAAPA Post-Test in Artificial Intelligence in Cardiovascular Practice and Outpatient Management of Congestive Heart Failure, are also available.
Diabetes
Approximately 1.2 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every year, and 1.8 million patients with diabetes were treated by a PA in 2024 alone.
Clinical resources, such as the 2025 International Diabetes Federation Global Clinical Practice Recommendations for Managing Type 2 Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association Standards of Care in Diabetes, are just two of more than 80 available resources.
Hematology and Oncology
Every three minutes, one person in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer, and in 2024, 1.2 million oncology patients were treated by PAs. Explore all hematology and oncology resources, such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology Guidelines or the American Society of Hematology clinical practice guidelines.
Infectious Diseases
Approximately 10.2 million patients seek care for infectious diseases annually and PAs prescribe 1.5 million vaccines each year. In this clinical area, users can find the latest HIV Guidelines and Recommendations, and CME resources like Clinical Guidelines for Doxy PEP Bacterial STI Prevention and Implementation of Guidelines for HPV-Related Anal Cancer Screening.
Mental Health
Sixty percent of PAs in primary care encounter patients with mental health concerns daily and 122 million patients are without adequate access to mental health care. Resources available include the American Psychiatric Association practice guidelines and the 2024 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention; CME, such as Common Adult Mental Health Disorders in Primary Care; and research on the recognition and management of treatment-resistant depression.
Neurology and Brain Health
Approximately 250,000 patients with Alzheimer's or dementia are managed by PAs each year. Toolkits, such as the Cognitive Assessment Toolkit (created with support from Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative and Cleveland Clinic), Pfizer's Migraine Toolkit, Neuropsychiatric Symptoms Associated with Alzheimer's Toolkit (created with support from Otsuka and Lundbeck), are just a few of the resources available, along with clinical guidelines, point-of-care, and CME resources.
Nutrition
Video resources available, such as Nutrition to Improve Recovery After Surgery, Your Nutrition Plan: How to Use a 24-Hour Dietary Recall, and Nutrition to Support Wound Healing are among the 46 nutrition-specific resources available in the new library.
Obesity
One in every three Americans are overweight and approximately 700,000 patients with obesity are treated annually by PAs. The Obesity Medicine Association Clinical Practice Statements and Best Practices and Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Treatment of Children and Adolescents with Obesity are just a few of the 86 obesity specific resources available in this clinical area of focus.
Pulmonary/Respiratory
COPD is the sixth leading cause of death for Americans, and PAs treat 760,000 patients with asthma or COPD annually. Clinical guidelines and point-of-care resources like the CDC's clinical overview of respiratory syncytial virus and 2024 GINA Asthma Guidelines can be found in this clinical area, along with special CME resources and research.
Women's Health
More than 75% of women experience perimenopause symptoms and 300,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed in 2025 alone.
