Chinese PLA Navy's 989 Task Group Arrives in Malaysia for Friendly Visit

MALAYSIA, Nov. 29 -- The Chinese PLA Navy's 989 Task Group, which is currently on a far-sea comprehensive training mission, arrived at the Port Klang in Malaysia at around 10 a.m. local time on Nov. 29, 2025, kicking off a four-day friendly visit to Malaysia.

This is the first visit of the naval task group's amphibious dock landing ship Changbaishan (Hull 989) and comprehensive training vessel Xiangqianjin-1 (Hull 88) to Malaysia, and is the 3rd visit of training vessel Zheng He (Hull 81) to Malaysia. During the visit, the Changbaishan Ship and the Zhenghe Ship will hold open ship day activities. The service members of the Chinese naval task group will also visit the National Hydrographic Center of Malaysia and conduct exchange activities with young sailors of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN).
