Vacancy: Trainee - Communications & Events

Position

We are recruiting a full-time Trainee to join the Communications & Events team. The successful candidate should demonstrate a genuine interest in EU affairs, along with a creative and innovative approach to communications.

The trainee will actively support the organisation of in-person and hybrid events and contribute to several flagship initiatives, including the European Money Quiz and the European Money Week. Moreover, the trainee will actively contribute to internal and external communication tasks such as the EBF newsletters. The role also involves supporting the Communications Steering Group and the Financial Literacy Project Group across the federation's membership.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive individual to become a fully integrated member of the Communications & Events team. The successful candidate will contribute to the team's daily activities, including:

  • Supporting the implementation of the organisation's communications and events strategy.
  • Assisting in the organisation and coordination of events and meetings (logistics, registrations, liaison with attendees, partners, and sponsors, and follow-up).
  • Creating and editing content for social media platforms, briefings, meeting minutes, website, SharePoint, and Mailchimp.
  • Supporting the planning, reviewing, and testing of website and social media content.
  • Conducting press and media monitoring, research, and reporting.
  • Draft the EBF's newsletters.

Profile

  • Interest in EU affairs and communications.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Academic background in communications, political science, business, marketing, events management, or a related field.
  • EU citizenship with the right to work in the EU.
  • At least one year of prior professional experience in the field of communications (traineeship/internships count)
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken), with strong drafting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organisational skills; affinity for or experience in event organisation.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva/Photoshop, and basic video editing is an asset.
  • Previous internship experience in an EU/international institution or association is considered an advantage.

Starting date : As of 7 April 2026
