Lane Closure - Overlay Project - 26th Street and Marion Road

Beginning on August 11, 2026, southbound traffic on South Marion Road is reduced to one lane between Silver Valley Drive and 26th Street. The lane reduction will allow the City's contractor to complete ADA Ramp repairs and full-depth concrete repairs in advance of the mill and overlay work scheduled for the middle of September.

Once work is completed on the west side of Marion Road, work will begin on the east side.

Beginning Thursday, August 13, 2026, milling will begin on West 26th Street. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained during the process. Once milling is completed, the overlay is anticipated to begin.

This project will require multiple traffic changes and lane closures throughout construction. News releases will be issued prior to each major phase of work. The project is anticipated to be completed in late October 2026.

Additional project information is available on the City's Street Construction webpage.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution, reduce speeds in the work zone, and consider alternate routes when traveling in the area.

Lane Closure - 41st Street

Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, there will be a partial lane closure at the corner of West 41st Street and Grange Avenue.

The outside eastbound lane on 41st Street will be closed from the 18th Amendment driveway approach to Grange Avenue.

The City of Sioux Falls Street Division will be conducting road work.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Sidewalk Closure - Main Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the west sidewalk in front of 123 South Main Avenue between Ninth Street and Tenth Street will be closed. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the east sidewalk. Businesses will remain accessible.

Reynolds Construction Management will be doing a building inspection.

This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure - 41st Street

Beginning Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the eastbound lane of East 41st Street at Phillips Avenue will be closed to allow crews to install accessible curb ramps on the south side of the intersection. Eastbound traffic will be moved to the center turn lane to maintain traffic flow.

Once this work is completed, the contractor will move to the north side of the intersection. After the work moves to the north side of the intersection, Phillips Avenue will be closed at 41st Street for the contractor to install a valley gutter and accessible curb ramps.

Motorists should utilize Minnesota Avenue and 37th Street as the detour route.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in approximately two weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
