Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wang Yu Visits the Signature China-aid Project National Theater of Somalia

On 14th July, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, visited the National Theater of Somalia constructed by China in the 1960s.

Accompanied by H.E. Daud Aweis Jama, Minister of Information of Somalia, Ambassador Wang was briefed on the Theater's past and present and enjoyed an extraordinary cultural performance by Somali artists at the Theater.

In his remarks, Ambassador Wang said that in the 1960s, Chinese constructors journeyed thousands of miles to Mogadishu to help the Somali people in constructing this signature project. Their dedication was driven by the enduring friendship between the two nations and peoples. We need to carry on the traditional China-Somalia friendship and advance bilateral relations.

Minister Daud Aweis Jama expressed his gratitude to China for the longstanding support to Somalia, which the Somali people will forever cherish. Both sides should maintain the friendship and expand practical cooperation.

The National Theater of Somalia is located in the center of Mogadishu. It was built by China in 1967 and stands as an epitome of China-Somalia friendship.
