Molina Healthcare of New Mexico Hosts Free Community Baby Shower in Roswell

ROSWELL, NM, Mar. 31, 2025 - Molina Healthcare of New Mexico ("Molina") hosted a free community baby shower at the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center for expecting moms. The first 50 attendees received a diaper bag full of newborn essentials including diapers, a blanket, baby bottle, pacifier and medicine spoon. This event also offered free flu shots, health screenings, and other giveaways including backpacks.

Maternal mortality rates vary significantly from state to state. New Mexico had the second highest maternal mortality rate in 2021, 79.5 deaths per 100,000 births. Expecting moms learned more about proper prenatal care and post-birth care at this important community event.

Partner organizations provided infant CPR demonstrations, shaken baby prevention information, and tours of the labor and delivery ward. Various resources from local organizations were presented to provide information on support programs for expecting parents.
