University of La Verne Celebrates Dr. Kelly May-Vollmar as Top 100 Education Influencer

The University of La Verne proudly celebrates Dr. Kelly May-Vollmar, an esteemed alumna of LaFetra College of Education and current adjunct faculty member, for being named one of the Top 100 Education Influencers for 2025 by District Administration magazine.

A respected leader in education, Dr. May-Vollmar serves as Superintendent of California's Desert Sands Unified School District, where she focuses on innovation and equity in K-12 schools. She has helped close the digital divide by bringing curriculum and technology teams together and works with her staff to strengthen the district's presence through storytelling and social media outreach.

This national honor follows her recent recognition as a 2024 DA Women of Distinction Award recipient, further cementing her reputation as one of the most forward-thinking leaders in public education. Dr. May-Vollmar exemplifies the values of La Verne, preparing future education leaders through her mentorship and advocacy.

Dr. May-Vollmar remains an active and inspiring presence at the LaFetra College of Education. As an adjunct professor in the college's innovative Summer Launch EdD program in Educational Leadership, she mentors doctoral candidates preparing to lead schools and districts of their own. She also serves on the Dean's Superintendent Advisory Board, where her insights shape the college's approach to preparing education professionals for real-world challenges.
