Street Closure - Tenth Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, East 10th Street will be closed between Six Mile Road and South Red Spruce Avenue. Traffic will be detoured using Red Spruce Avenue and Willow Wood Street.

Lidel Construction will be making a new underground utility connection on Tenth Street.

This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of Monday, September 7, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure - Tenth Street

Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026, the outside eastbound lane of East Tenth Street will be intermittently closed between Cliff Avenue and the I-229 Interchange to allow crews to complete storm drainage repairs. After the completion of this work in the eastbound lanes, work will switch to the westbound lanes.

During this project, traffic will be maintained in the inside lane.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in approximately three weeks.

Lane Closure - Marion Road

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, the outside southbound lane of South Marion Road will be closed between Birnhamwood Drive and Lake Shore Boulevard.

Black-Top Paving will be replacing curb and gutter and a driveway approach.

This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on September 21, 2026.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure - 271st Street (Lincoln County Highway 106)

Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026, 271st Street (Lincoln County Highway 106) will be closed between Cliff Avenue and Southeastern Avenue to allow crews to install a steel casing pipe under the railroad tracks and under Cliff Avenue.

Traffic will be detoured utilizing Cliff Avenue, 57th Street, and SD Highway 11. Traffic on Cliff Avenue will not be impacted.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed by the end of October.

Parking Lane and Sidewalk Closure - Main Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, the parking lane and sidewalk on the west side of North Main Avenue will be closed along the Old Courthouse Museum between Fifth Street and Sixth Street.

Hander Mechanical will be installing new underground utilities.

The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on September 11, 2026.

Lane Closures - Russell Street

Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026, the eastbound outside lane and center lane on Russell Street will be closed from Louise Drive to Western Avenue to allow crews to perform concrete repairs.

One lane of traffic will be maintained in the inside eastbound lane. Turning lanes will be maintained at intersections where possible.

In the upcoming weeks, the location of the lane closure through this area will vary. At a minimum, one lane of traffic in each direction will always remain open.

This work is anticipated to be completed in mid-October.

Lane Closures - Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026, the outside northbound and southbound lanes of South Minnesota Avenue between 69th Street and St. Andrews Drive will be closed to allow the contractor to complete concrete repairs.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed in approximately one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closures - Russell Street

Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026, the eastbound outside lane and center lane on Russell Street will be closed from Louise Drive to Western Avenue to allow crews to perform concrete repairs.

The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on September 7, 2026.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the outside westbound lane of East Tenth Street will be closed for approximately 300 feet starting at Sycamore Avenue.

The north sidewalk will be closed along the same area, with pedestrian traffic detouring to the south sidewalk.

Xcel Energy will be replacing a power pole.

The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the same day.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the outside northbound lane of South Western Avenue will be closed for approximately 300 feet between 69th Street and La Quinta Street.

This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day, September 4, 2026.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the outside eastbound lane of East 26th Street will be closed for approximately 300 feet at Sycamore Avenue.

The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on September 4, 2026.

Lane and Sidewalk Closure - Minnesota Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the outside northbound lane of North Minnesota Avenue will be closed beginning at Ninth Street and continuing north into the existing construction.

The east sidewalk will be closed along Minnesota Avenue with pedestrian traffic detouring to the west sidewalk. The north sidewalk along Ninth Street will be closed from Minnesota Avenue to Dakota Avenue with pedestrian traffic detoured to the south sidewalk.

Stein Sign Display will be doing crane work for sign installation.

This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.
