ShopBack and TADA Make the Daily Commute Pay Back, Bringing ShopBack Pay to Ride-Hailing for the First Time

Singapore, 20 October 2026 - Riders in Singapore have a new way to make the daily commute pay for itself, with ShopBack, Asia-Pacific's leading shopping and rewards platform, bringing ShopBack Pay to TADA, the world's first zero-commission ride-hailing platform.

This is the first time ShopBack Pay has been built into a ride-hailing app, extending where ShopBack members earn rewards into everyday travel. Riders who link ShopBack Pay inside the TADA app can use the Cashback they have already earned to settle the fare, in part or in full, and earn Cashback on the same ride, up to S$10 per trip.

Whether it is the 9AM ride to the office, a late run home, an airport drop-off or a trip across town on a wet evening, riders can now get more back from the fare. Demand since launch has settled into two peaks: the morning commute between 8AM and 10AM, and a late-night window on Friday and Saturday nights.

This changes what a fare does. Cashback earned on one ride goes towards settling the next, so each trip leaves something behind instead of simply being spent. The value comes from the combination: a reward balance that can be spent anywhere, meeting a category people return to several times a week.

In an initial phase through early October, ahead of this week's launch campaign, ShopBack has already driven S$300,000 in ride value on TADA. Account linking on TADA has doubled week on week over the same period, an early signal that rides are a category members want rewarded. On close to one in three ShopBack Pay rides, riders have put Cashback they had already earned towards the fare.

How it works

  1. In the TADA app, add ShopBack Pay under payment methods and link your ShopBack account. This takes one step and is needed only once. Your ShopBack account will need a default card set up before the ride.
  2. Book a ride on TADA as usual, and select ShopBack Pay at checkout.
  3. Cashback already earned can be applied against the fare there and then.
  4. Cashback earned on the TADA ride lands in the ShopBack account, ready to settle the next fare, offset other payments made with ShopBack Pay, or be withdrawn to a bank account or e-wallet.

The option is available to all riders in Singapore with an active ShopBack account and the TADA app. Riders without a ShopBack account can create one at no cost via the ShopBack app.

Alongside the Cashback earned on TADA rides, ShopBack is running a series of limited-time rewards for riders who link ShopBack Pay to TADA, with different offers running from now through to the end of the year. More details can be found in the ShopBack app.

Commentary

"Mobility is a natural next category for ShopBack Pay, and TADA was the right partner to open it with. Rides are one of the few things people pay for several times a week, and the rewards a member has built up anywhere on ShopBack can now go straight into them. A balance should be worth something wherever a member goes next, not stuck where it was earned," said Julian Foo, General Manager of Financial Services at ShopBack. "Our ambition is to make every day more rewarding, across all the moments that make up a day, the large ones and the small ones. A ride is one of them. There are plenty more still to open up."

"We believe that creating value for riders goes beyond offering affordable fares. By tapping into ShopBack's established rewards ecosystem, we're connecting everyday mobility with practical benefits that help riders get more out of their journeys. This partnership reflects our broader commitment to making TADA a more rewarding choice for riders, beyond just fares and promotions," said Nigel Sim, Head of TADA Singapore.

Notes to Editors

More about ShopBack Pay

ShopBack Pay is ShopBack's own payment method, used through the ShopBack app both online and in person. It enables members to earn and redeem real Cashback at the point of purchase, whether that is at a retail counter, over a meal or now, on a TADA ride in Singapore. The rewards stack: card points, miles and bank rebates are unaffected, because ShopBack Pay draws on the card or preferred payment method a member chooses rather than replacing it. ShopBack Pay is now live in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Get rewarded on TADA rides

  1. Bring the fare down immediately. Cashback already earned on ShopBack can be applied at checkout to pay part or all of the ride.
  2. Earn on the ride. Rides paid with ShopBack Pay earn Cashback, up to S$10 per trip.
  3. Keep earning on the payment method behind it. ShopBack Pay draws on the card a member chooses, so the points, miles or rebates on it keep accruing. The Cashback earned from ShopBack stacks on top.
