Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Events Slated for October

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation's Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation (AIR) division will be hosting its Tweens on the Scene series and its annual Fall Dance in October.

Tweens on the Scene
Thursday, October 2, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Greensboro Sportsplex, 2400 16th St.(drop-off and pickup location)

Tweens on the Scene is a school-day-out program that provides a needed recreational experience for participants with disabilities between the ages of 12 and 21 years old. The experience will incorporate social interactions for our participants and developing independent skills in the community. Registration is required. Cost for the Thursday, October 2 event is $30. This event is part of a series that includes additional dates of Monday, November 3, and January 26 and February 16 of 2026.

Fall Dance
Tuesday, October 21, 6-8 pm, Lindley Recreation Center, 2907 Springwood Dr.

This free, all-ages event - with a Harvest Masquerade theme - offers an evening of music, dancing, and seasonal fun for the whole family. Along with the dance, there will also be lawn games, coloring sheets, and a photo booth. Community members are encouraged to bring their friends and enjoy a festive celebration of fall in a welcoming, inclusive environment. All are welcome to attend; registration is required.
