Texan Baseball heads to Abilene for I-20 rivalry this weekend

ABILENE, Texas - Tarleton State Baseball (20-29, 8-10 WAC) is headed to Abilene to battle against the Wildcats (27-18, 11-7 WAC) for their final road series of the regular season.

The Purple and White will look to clinch their spot in the WAC Championship after winning it all in 2024.

WAC PLAYOFF CLINCHING SCENARIOS:

  • Tarleton State is three games ahead of Seattle U and Utah Tech, who both hold a 5-13 conference record.
  • The Texans can clinch the WAC Tournament with a sweep over the Wildcats this weekend, regardless of whatever else happens.
  • Tarleton State can also clinch with two wins and a loss from Utah Tech. The Texans hold the tiebreaker over the Trailblazers after sweeping them two weeks ago.
  • The Purple and White can also make the conference tournament if they win and the Trailblazers or Redhawks lose all three games this weekend.

  • The Wildcats lead the all-time series 22-29.
  • The Texans took the last matchup between these two squads, winning 11-1 in the WAC Semifinals on 5/24/2024.
