October 27, 2025

BISMARCK, N.D. - Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series "Little Kids, Big World" at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota's fascinating history. Children and their accompanying adult(s) are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.

Nov. 1 and 5, Happy Birthday, North Dakota, 10 a.m. Hip, hip, hooray-it's North Dakota's birthday! Celebrate with us and design your own state postage stamp.

Nov. 8 and 12, Veterans Day, 10 a.m. Veterans Day is a time to honor all the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Assemble a patriotic paper chain and decorate it with stars, stripes, or thank-you messages for our veterans.

Nov. 15 and 19, Buttons, 10 a.m. Did you know that Nov. 16 is National Button Day? Explore the history of buttons and create a button bracelet.

Nov. 22 and 26, Thanksgiving, 10 a.m. Many people celebrate Thanksgiving with a big meal. Decorate your own placements for the dinner table.

Nov. 29 and Dec. 3, Nocturnal Animals, 10 a.m. As the days grow shorter, nocturnal animals have more time to come out and play. Learn about our nocturnal neighbors, then assemble a pinecone hedgehog.
