Amplifier One offers IT, telecom, and cybersecurity guidance at no cost to clients - a model long common in real estate and financial services, but rare in business technology
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - April 28, 2026 - Justin Wilson, a longtime IT infrastructure leader whose career spans Slack, Lookout, and Deloitte, today launched Amplifier One, a vendor-neutral technology advisory firm headquartered in San Luis Obispo and serving businesses across the Central Coast, greater California, Arizona, and Nevada.
The firm helps mid-market businesses - typically those with 5 to 500 employees - navigate purchasing decisions across telecom, cybersecurity, cloud, unified communications, audiovisual, and AI services. Amplifier One represents more than 200 vendors, including Cato Networks, Comcast, Zoom, Microsoft, and Okta, among hundreds of others. Vendors pay the firm when a contract closes, so clients never receive an invoice.
The model is well established in adjacent industries - real estate has buyer's agents, financial services has independent fiduciary advisors - but has remained rare in business technology, where most advisors are tied to a single carrier or vendor stack.
Wilson said most Central Coast businesses below enterprise scale lack a CIO or dedicated IT procurement function, leaving operations leaders and IT directors to negotiate complex contracts one at a time against full-time sales professionals.
"The IT buying process is broken for the buyer," Wilson said. "Most advisors in this space grew up in telecom sales. I grew up in IT. I've inherited other people's expensive mistakes, and I've watched businesses get sold the wrong thing because there was less commission in the right answer. Amplifier One exists to fix that - and to do it for the businesses right here on the Central Coast that have been underserved by national firms for years."
Amplifier One offers three core services: Technology Strategy Sessions, which align technology investment with multi-year business plans; Solutions Evaluations, which provide vendor-neutral sourcing and negotiation; and Renewals Management, which oversees contract lifecycles to prevent surprise auto-renewals and above-market pricing.
The firm's initial focus is San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, with planned expansion into Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas.
Amplifier One is headquartered at 669 Pacific Street, Suite E in San Luis Obispo and operates under Element Tech Group LLC. More information is available at amplifierone.com.
