Shane Campbell Appointed Roadway Practice Leader

GFT announced the promotion of Shane Campbell, PE, to roadway practice leader, strengthening the firm's roadway and highway design capabilities. A 26-year veteran of the firm, Campbell's appointment reflects his technical expertise, client focus, and commitment to advancing roadway engineering across North America. Throughout his career, he has helped deliver complex roadway and transportation infrastructure programs that improve mobility, enhance safety, and support economic growth.

In his new role, Campbell will guide GFT's roadway professionals in advancing design quality, driving innovation, and mentoring the next generation of engineers. His deep understanding of state and local agency processes, coupled with his proven leadership on complex infrastructure programs, positions him to further strengthen GFT's roadway practice and expand its impact across the markets we serve.

Campbell has extensive experience working with state departments of transportation and local agencies. He successfully grew his career to lead multidisciplinary teams through every phase of project development, and his understanding of agency processes, funding structures, and regulatory requirements enables teams to move efficiently from planning through final design and construction support. His technical expertise spans roadway design, maintenance of traffic, drainage, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and environmental documentation.

In addition to his project leadership, Campbell is a polished and engaging presenter who has shared his expertise at numerous industry conferences over the years, including the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Annual Conference; the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference; Penn State's Traffic, Engineering, and Safety Conference; Illinois Transportation and Highway Engineering Conference; and ITS America. He is an active member of ASHE and currently serves as the chair of the Transportation Liaison Committee for the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Transportation, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing the profession and supporting the engineering community.

Campbell started his career at GFT in 2000 after studying civil engineering at Ohio University. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University.
