Alfred Beshai, MD and Mission Advanced Pain Management & Spine Center Agreed to Pay $451,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services that Exceeded the Allowed Number of Services

On February 12, 2026, Alfred Beshai, M.D. and Mission Advanced Pain Management & Spine Center PC (collectively, "Dr. Beshai"), Irvine, California, entered into a $451,902 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Dr. Beshai submitted claims to Medicare for epidural steroid injections that exceeded the allowed number of transforaminal injections in a session, exceeded the number of allowed injections in a six-month period, or exceeded the number of allowed spinal regions per session. OIG's Office of Audit Services and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General collaborated to achieve this resolution.
