17 December 2025, Chișinău - State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carolina Perebinos, held a meeting today with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Audra Plepytė, during her working visit to Chișinău.
The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, the EU enlargement policy, the European path of the Republic of Moldova, and the Transnistrian settlement process. In this context, both sides welcomed the launch, on 15 December 2025, of technical discussions between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on accession clusters: 1 - Fundamental Values, 2 - Internal Market, and 6 - External Relations.
The meeting highlighted the positive dynamics of Moldovan-Lithuanian relations and political dialogue, reflected in effective institutional cooperation. The active role of Lithuania, including within the NB8 group, in supporting the strengthening of institutional capacities and the resilience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was also emphasized.
State Secretary Carolina Perebinos expressed appreciation for Lithuania's support in promoting Moldova's European integration, including efforts in countering disinformation, rural development, resilience building, and advancing democratic reforms. She also welcomed the decision to maintain Moldova among the priority countries in Lithuania's development assistance strategy and the active involvement of Lithuanian experts in key areas of the accession process.
Deputy Minister Audra Plepytė, in turn, reaffirmed Lithuania's commitment to continue supporting the Republic of Moldova on its European path and in strengthening resilience against hybrid threats.
