Weekend Lane Closures on I-20 and I-285 in Fulton, DeKalb for Concrete Rehab
Expect Traffic Delays
METRO ATLANTA - Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install lane closures on Interstate 20 (I-20) and I-285 in Fulton and DeKalb Counties this weekend as a concrete rehabilitation project continues Resurfacing improves the condition of the roadway materials and provides a smoother ride for drivers.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, these are the scheduled lane closures each weeknight night beginning Friday, April 24, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following mornings:
  • "Rolling" lane closures on I-20 eastbound and westbound between the I-75/I-85 Connector interchange (exit 57) and Columbia Drive (exit 66).
  • "Rolling" lane closures on I-285 eastbound and westbound between Lavista Road (exit 36) and the I-285/I-20 interchange (exit 46).
Crews will be striping the roadway, and as work is completed in one area, crews will "roll" the closures to the next work area.
This $9 million project is scheduled for completion in early spring 2026.
As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the Georgia 511 app for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
