Additional Indiana Counties Now Eligible for FEMA Assistance

INDIANAPOLIS - New counties are now eligible for FEMA Individual Assistance and Public Assistance in response to the August storms, tornadoes and flooding in Indiana.

• Homeowners and renters in Cass, Pike and Putnam counties can now apply for FEMA Individual Assistance. To start the process, go online at DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA helpline at 1-800-621-3362. FEMA may be able to help with serious needs, temporary lodging, basic home repair costs, personal property loss or other disaster-caused needs.
  
  
• Carroll, Cass, Fountain, Grant, Marion, Morgan, Parke, Pike, Pulaski, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Starke, Union, Vermillion and Warren counties are now eligible for FEMA Public Assistance. This grant program assists governments and certain private nonprofits with the costs of emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities. The state of Indiana will conduct applicant briefings to inform potential applicants of the assistance available and how to apply.

The road to recovery continues, and my administration is fighting for Hoosiers every step of the way."

One Month Recovery: At a Glance

In just one month, more than $130 million has been delivered to individuals and households through grants, low-interest disaster loans and flood insurance payments, to include:

• $111 million in FEMA grants to 26,800 households.
• $4.1 million in disbursed U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans.
• $15.4 million in National Flood Insurance Program payments.

On August 25, 2026, Carroll, Dearborn, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Porter, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Tipton, Union, and Wayne counties were authorized for assistance to households.

Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Henry, Lake, LaPorte, Madison, Porter, Tipton, and Wayne counties were previously authorized for assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.
