Minister Konaković received the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sylvie Kharoof, on her inaugural visit

Minister Konaković welcomed the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sylvie Kharoof, during her inaugural visit on February 20, 2026.

Minister Konaković wished Ambassador Kharoof a successful term and a pleasant stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that the two nations maintain friendly, cooperative relations, noting that Bosnia and Herzegovina has consistently supported the Palestinian people's right to freedom and self-determination, in line with international law and humanitarian principles. Drawing from its own experiences of war three decades ago, the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina understand the suffering of the Palestinian people and their quest for freedom and dignity.

Ambassador Kharoof expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and the ongoing support that Bosnia and Herzegovina extends to Palestine and its people. She emphasized the shared painful memories between the two countries and appreciated Bosnia and Herzegovina's unwavering commitment to standing for truth. The Ambassador conveyed her hope that during her mandate, she would help deepen the friendly relations between the two countries.

Both parties recognized the significant potential to strengthen bilateral relations in the areas of the economy, culture, and education. They agreed on the necessity of enhancing existing cooperation and establishing new forms of collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
